Full-time PhD and MPhil students with a first degree of at least second-class honours first division (or equivalent) are typically eligible for a Postgraduate Scholarship (PGS) during their standard study period, dependent on funding availability. Eligibility may also consider Master’s degree performance. The PGS, including for HKU-PS and HKPFS awardees, is awarded annually and renewable based on satisfactory progress and adherence to scholarship regulations.

HKPFS aims at drawing the most talented students globally to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong. The program is open to new applicants to full-time PhD programs.
